Last Social Studies Class for the year!

Thank you 9M, for a great year in class - I enjoyed our learning together. Highlights for me were our Waitangi and Ruapekapeka days out, our world geography warm-ups, learning about early Polynesian migration, and thinking about the issues and problems that we are facing right now in our world. Social Studies includes so many important topics and issues that you, as young people and adults of the next generation, will have to deal with and find solutions for. You have started that important work in Yr 9 Social Studies.

9M Maths- Money

9M has been planning a road trip with fun filled activities. They created a budget and worked out the toal amounts for their trip. Here is an example:

Food and Digestion

Over the last seven weeks 9M have been learning about Food and Digestion. Students have learned about the different food types and their function in the body. They have also learned about the order and function of the digestive organs. The numerous practical lessons at the beginning of the unit were enjoyed, and the online Google Meets were fun during lock down with students teaching their peers. An awesome unit of life applicable learning!

The Week in Social Studies

This week is our first full week back after lockdown. It's been great to reconnect with learning with the whole class again. I've enjoyed seeing the range of countries and cultures that students are studying to contrast with NZ culture. Welcome back everyone!
